I am directed by Earl Grey to acquaint you that the claim preferred by The Honble Mr Morrison in his capacity of late Superintendent of the works at Hongkong, which formed the subject of my letter of the 19th ult., having been finally lost, his Lordship has authorised Mr Baillie, the Colonial Agent General, to pay to Mr Morrison the amount of pay and salary to which he may be entitled up to the present date.
